Aspirin is a popular painkiller used to treat inflammation and fever. Its main compound, salicylic acid, has been used against inflammation since the 5th century. Salicylic acid is highly beneficial for our health and can prevent numerous problems including blood clots and cardiovascular diseases.
Besides being used to reduce fever or inflammation, aspirin has many more uses you probably weren’t aware about.
Here are the nine aspirin uses you haven’t heard of:
Restores your hair color
The chlorine in our water supply can significantly damage our hair and affect its color. In order to restore your natural hair color and make your hair soft and smooth, add 6-8 aspirins in a glass of warm water, then rub your hair with the mixture and leave it to work for 10-15 minutes. Give your hair a final rinse with water in the end and the effects of the chlorine should be subdued.
Treats hard calluses
Calluses can be difficult to remove, but luckily, aspirin can soften and eliminate them. Crush 5 aspirins and add them to ½ a teaspoon of water and some lemon juice, then apply the mixture on your calluses and wrap with a warm towel. Leave the remedy to work for 5 minutes, then unwrap and look at the calluses – they should be softened and ready to be removed!
Rejuvenates your skin
The salicylic acid in the pills is great for our skin – it can clean it of impurities and remove the excess dirt, oil and dead skin cells. Crush 5 aspirins and mix them with a teaspoon of honey and ¼ cup of water, then apply the mixture on your face and leave it to work for 10 minutes. Repeat the process every day and your skin will look better than ever before!
Relieves insect bites and stings
To relieve the skin irritation at the site of insect bites or stings, apply a mixture of aspirin and water.
Pimples can affect everyone regardless of age or gender and are difficult to remove. Luckily, aspirin can dry them out and quickly get rid of them. To treat the problem, crush an aspirin pill and mix it with water, then apply the mixture on the pimples and leave it to work for a bit. Rinse with water in the end and repeat the process every day until all the pimples are gone.
Removes perspiration stains
Mix a few crushed aspirins with ½ a cup of water, then soak your clothes in the mixture for 2-3 hours before rinsing them with water. Repeat the process until the stains are gone.
Crush 2 aspirin pills and add them to your favorite shampoo, then wash your hair with the mixture to eliminate dandruff easily.
Removes grease from your cookware
Make a paste of some water and a couple of aspirin pills, then rub your greasy cookware to easily cut through the layers of fat.
Breathes new life in your flowers
Add a few crushed aspirin pills to the water in your vases to prevent them from drying out and prolong their longevity.
